Pick where you’re arriving, how many days you have and the places you’d like to see. The planner puts them in a sensible order, splits your days, estimates travel between stops and warns you about bad seasons.

How to plan a realistic India itinerary
- Fewer places, more time: long distances and busy roads make India slower to cross than it looks on a map. Two to three nights per stop is a good minimum.
- Group by region: pair places that are close together, such as Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, or Kochi, Munnar and Alleppey in Kerala.
- Use overnight trains and flights: an overnight train saves a hotel night, and a domestic flight can turn a two-day journey into a few hours.
- Match places to the season: the planner flags destinations that are off-season in your travel month. Use the best time to visit checker for details.
- Allow for altitude: if you fly into Leh in Ladakh, rest for the first day or two before doing anything strenuous.
